The Bereavement Fund
SAN ESTEBAN ACADEMY CLASS OF 1983
San Esteban, 2706 Ilocos Sur, Philippines
-
This project of the alumni association of SEA Class of 1983 is on a voluntary basis.
-
What constitutes bereavement is the death of an alumnus/-na and his/her common-law partner. The death of an alumnus shall entitle a payment of two thousand pesos (P2,000.00), while the death of a significant other shall entitle the alumnus one thousand pesos (P1,000.00).
-
Funding for this project will be supported by monthly dues collected from participants. For 2026, a monthly contribution of twenty pesos (P20.00) is to be collected from each participant and is retroactive in January. Due to inflation, there might be a need to increase the benefit payout; hence, increase in monthly dues for succeeding years will likely happen. This will be deliberated by the Board of Trustees and then presented to and voted for by members present at a meeting.
-
Effective in 2027, to qualify for benefits, a member’s account should be active (no delinquent dues) for 3 months preceding a bereavement event. Withdrawal from participating in this program will forfeit all previous contributions.
-
Prepayment of dues for the current year is allowed.
